The Cranberries started in 1989 in Ireland. Dolores O'Riordan, the singer, joined with brothers Noel and Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. They all loved making music, and that's why they became a band. In 1993, their first album, "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" came out with popular songs like "Linger" and "Zombie."
After some good years, The Cranberries took a break in 2003 but came back together later, in 2009. Sadly, Dolores O'Riordan passed away in 2018. After that, the band decided not to continue without her.
Their Style
The Cranberries had a unique style in the 1990s. They didn't follow the usual trends and had their own cool look. Dolores O'Riordan, the singer, often wore distinctive outfits, and the rest of the band’s style was a mix of rock and alternative influences but they didn’t stand out as much as the singer. Their fashion choices added to their image a special and creative group vision.

My favourite song
“Ode to my family” is, without any doubt, my favourite song ever. It has emotional lyrics and its themes are nostalgia and family. But the reason I love it so much is because on one of my parents' first dates this song was played and it became their song. I've been listening to it since I was very little and I like it more and more. I really love seeing and hearing my parents sing this song together when we are in the car.
Even though they are not a band anymore, people still love listening to The Cranberries' music. They made a big impact- especially in alternative rock. The time they spent making music together is an important and special part of music history.
