HOW HAS ROCK CHANGED US

Rock n’ Roll has evolved during time, with the guitar being the most important symbol and instrument of this genre . In its beginning during the 50s, rock was played mostly by single artists that represented the rebellion against extremely conservative rules inside music genres. These figures became symbols of a new forbidden type of music that was ready to break with everything that the public could know. Thanks to rock music, many of us are now more conscious about the problems of our society.

With time, rock bands started to appear on the map, all with the same desire of searching for the freedom to express their own thoughts without being censored. This feeling was reflected in the way rock stars dressed - until that moment, the single idea of showing off a bit of skin could ruin your reputation and could change the opinion others had about you- by wearing ripped and “provocative” outfits, such as low-necked tops, tight leather jackets, ripped jeans and above knee-length dresses.

Nowadays, despite the existence of some new rock artists such as Arctic Monkeys, It is said that rock bands aren’t as famous and mythical as in the 70s, 80s or the 90s. However, that does not mean that Rock n’ Roll isn’t an important genre anymore. In fact, it’s quite the opposite; the importance and the impact of these artists and masterpieces have been so huge on people's lives, that they’re still known and listened to these days by all of us and many of their typical clothes such as miniskirts, high-heels and black, leather jackets are still worn as well.
