Pink Floyd are an English rock band formed in London in 1965. They had sold more than 250 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling artists of all time. Four Pink Floyd albums topped the US Billboard 200, and five topped the UK Albums Chart.  They were inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame  and the UK music Hall of Fame. They were distinguished by their extended compositions, sonic experiments, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows. The group was formed by Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright.  Later, in 1967, David Gilmour joined the group, but Barrett left due to his mental health.  They became a leading band of the progressive rock genre, cited by some as the greatest progressive rock band of all time.

At the begging Syd Barrett was the frontman of the group and the psychedelic sound of the group was accompanied with floral printed shirts. In the 60s they used to wear the while beads, flared trousers, booties and contemporary cuts. They also used to layer long-sleeved tee underneath. After, when David Gilmour replaced Barrett in the 70s the clothes changed, with swinging London florals replaced by muted tones, skinny-fit T-shirts and worn-out denim.

THEIR OUTFIT

My favourite song

My Favourite song is “Another brick in the wall” for the meaning of the lyrics. This song was written by Roger Waters. Although I had listened to this song before I discovered it when I sang it in my music school when we were doing the musical of Annie. Nowadays I don’t sing in choir and this song reminds me of that.  This At first I didn’t pay attention to the lyrics, I just liked for the music but then I realised what was talking about the lyrics. When they say “we don’t need no education” and “we don’t need no thought control” they are criticising the way that we are educated in school. They say that in schools they depersonalize us to be part of a big machinery and not to have initiative.
